This is Part 3 in our Polaris Barn Find series. In this video, we show some of the freshly painted parts, test the compression, machine the head, and then show the plastics that will be going on next. If all goes well, we should have the Polaris completely back together for the next video. Then we’ll get to start having some fun with it.
Just wanted to give you a quick update on the Polaris project. As you can see in the video, we cleaned it up a bit and began tearing it down. We removed the snow plow, took off the plastics, and worked our way down to the engine. Next, we’ll throw on a new head gasket, swap the carb, get the exhaust how we want it, and then install the new plastics. We’re already getting anxious to see how it turns out. I thought you might like a look at this nicely restored 1972 Kawasaki H2 triple. This one has been modified a bit with some custom port work by Ritter Cycle Racing and some aftermarket expansion chambers. As you can see, it looks and runs great.
